Day to day schedule to Nepal: 15 Days Gokyo Lake Trekking

  • Day 01: Arrival o/n in Hotel +D

    We will pick you up at the international airport for your transfer to the hotel. As a welcome you will have a typical Nepalese dinner with some of the staff members, typical food coming up! And do not forget to try our typical Nepalese drink with a great mood of cheers.

  • Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley o/n in a hotel +B

    After breakfast, a sightseeing visit, in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Pashupatinath Temple.

  • Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,652m, 3hrs) o/n in lodge +B+L+D.

    After breakfast, we get transferred to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport for an early morning flight to Lukla (2,800m), a gateway destination from where our trek starts. After an adventurous 40 minute flight above breathtaking green and white mountains, we reach the Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. This is one of the most beautiful air routes in the world culminating in a dramatic landing on a hillside surrounded by high mountains peaks. Here we meet our other crew members and after some packing and arrangements, we start our trek through the prosperous village of Lukla until we reach Phakding.

  • Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m, 5hrs), o/n in Lodge +B+L+D

    Walking through a beautiful pine forest, the track leads us along the Dudh Koshi River through many suspension bridges, one of which is the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. First, we catch the wonderful prospect of the glistening Mt. Thamserku (6618 m). Through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, we come to the check post and entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. We pass through the last village of Jorsale before reaching Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 05: Rest day in Namche Bazaar, o/n in a Lodge +B+L+D

    Set in a natural amphitheater looking across to the jagged ridge of Kongdi Ri(6187m), Namche Bazaar is one of the most attractive settlements in the Khumbu region. We will have a full day’s rest so that we won’t face any problems ahead. Today we make a short acclimatization trek up to Khumjung, a delightful Sherpa village above Namche. You have full day leisure for a wonderful panoramic view or stroll around the market You can also enjoy the splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, and Kwangde, and so on.

  • Day 06: Trek to Thame (3800m, 4/5hrs) o/n in Lodge +B+L+D

    After breakfast, we trek uphill. After an hour of walking mostly downhill into the forest, the trip continues. At this juncture, the steep rise up about 50m in altitude to reach a ridge around it. The river bed becomes closer and wider. We reach the village of Phorte and then the small town of Samde, along the stretch halfway up a slight slope leading to the bridge over the Bhote Koshi from here Thame is not far.

  • Day 07: Trek to Marulung (4210m, 5/6hrs) o/n in Lodge +B+L+D

    Today after breakfast we head for the next camp towards Marlung. The terrain from Thame to Marlung is an alpine zone and there is very little vegetation. We enjoy the peace and relative solitude of this little trekked valley. We next bend around the village of Tangmote. After then, we walk parallel to the village of Yellajung on the other side of the Bhote Koshi and then to Marlung.

  • Day 08: Trek to Gokyo via Renjopass (5360m)(4800 m, 7/8hrs) o/n in Lodge +B+L+D

    After breakfast, we leave Marlung and then climb a small rasing hill. Upon crossing the water stream we reach Lungdeng. We hike further to the top of Renjo La, we get outstanding views of the surrounding. The Everest itself, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche can be seen shining in the sun. We walk further to Gokyo.

  • Day 09: Hike to gokyo Ri 5353m o/n in Lodge +B+L+D

    Gokyo Ri is the highlight of this trip. This day, we hike up to Gokyo Ri (Gokyo Peak). Climb to Gokyo Ri is obviously strenuous as it is steep up and takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach the top, but even from the trial scenery of Gokyo village on the edge of the third lake overlooked by Cholatse and the broad Nogzumpa Glacier are mind-blowing. We feel like we are surrounded by panoramic mountains like Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Changtse, and Pumori. The sight of sunrays kissing the Everest that towers over all surrounding peaks are unlike from Kala Patthar (from Kala Patthar; Nuptse seems taller). Our Gokyo Ri visit will be unforgettable lifetime memories. We trek down to Gokyo.

  • Day 10: Trek to Dole (4120m/4-5 hours) o/n in lodge +B+L+D

    After breakfast, we trek to Dole, continue the descent upstream of Dudh Kosi River till Machhermo which takes about 2 hours. You have lunch break here. After lunch, then the trail again descends until reaching Dole. It takes about 2 and a half hours.

  • Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar(3440m/5-6 hrs) o/n in lodge +B+L+D

    In the morning after breakfast, you walk descending till Phortse Thanga, it takes about 1 and half hours. Then the trail steeply ascends until reaching Mongla which takes about 1and half hours. Then you continue your trek keep gently descending till Kyangjuma. You have lunch here. After lunch, you continue passing the Stupa until Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2850m/6-7 hrs) o/n in lodge +B+L+D

    After breakfast, we start to trek the same route down, we feel completely different views, we snap a mixture of open plains, rhododendron, and pine forests, and in the distance snow-covered peaks. We walk through the Sherpa villages noticing impressive faith in Buddhism and the culture of prayer stones and prayers flag while we walk through the villages. On arrival in Lukla, we stretch those sore legs and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks. We experience the culmination of a fantastic trek on a happy note with everyone back safe and sound with smiles on their faces.

  • Day 13: Flight to Kathmandu o/n in Hotel +B

    You fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu early in the morning which takes about 45 minutes. Then transfer to Hotel. Refresh and relax.

  • Day 14: Free day in Kathmandu o/n in Hotel +B

  • Day 15: Departure +B
