In 1984, the park was on the World Heritage Sites list. It is 932 km2 in the subtropical lowlands in the south-central part of Nepal. It knows for having a lot of wildlife and plants.

Chitwan National Park is home to more than 700 species of animals and several butterflies, moths, and insect species that still need to be counted. In addition to the King Cobra and the Indian rock python, there are 17 other types of snakes, the Indian starred tortoise, and the monitor lizard. At least 43 kinds of mammals live in Chitwan National Park.

The Bengal Tiger is known as the “King of the Jungle”. But leopards and tigers are also there. Similarly, other animals that hunt in the jungle include fishing cats, jungle cats, clouded leopards, leopard cats, marbled cats, golden jackals, Indian wild dogs, sloth bears, Bengal foxes, Spotted linsangs, palm civets, Large and Small Indian civets, several types of mongoose, binturongs, honey badgers, and yellow-throated martens.
