16 Days Tso Moriri Lake Mountain Biking
Mountain biking in Nepal – guided tours across the Himalayas
Mountain biking in Nepal offers some of the most dramatic riding on the planet. Ancient trade routes, remote Himalayan passes, and Sherpa village trails that no road can reach. Since 1989, Himalayan Leaders has been running guided mountain biking expeditions across Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and India. Our team includes four of Nepal’s top-ranked mountain bikers, and every trip is backed by full logistical support so you can focus entirely on the ride.
Whether you want to cross Thorong La Pass on the Annapurna Circuit, descend through the high desert of Upper Mustang, or freewheel from Lhasa to Kathmandu on the Friendship Highway, we have a guided itinerary for it, or we’ll build one around you.
Our mountain biking routes
We run mountain biking trips across Nepal, Tibet, and the broader Himalayan region. Our most popular routes include the Annapurna Circuit, where you ride anti-clockwise around the Annapurna massif and cross Thorong La Pass at 5,416m through rhododendron forests and high-altitude desert; the Mustang region ride, taking you through the ancient walled kingdom of Lo Manthang along the dramatic Kali Gandaki gorge; and the Pikey Peak route, a hidden-gem ride through Everest foothills with sunrise panoramas of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu. For those wanting an epic long-distance adventure, the Lhasa to Kathmandu ride on the Friendship Highway passes Everest North Base Camp across high Tibetan passes. If you’re new to Himalayan riding, our 9-day Cross-Country Nepal tour is the perfect introduction, a fast-paced ride through mid-hills and river valleys with teahouse accommodation throughout. If none of these fit your schedule or ability level, contact us and we’ll design a custom itinerary at no extra cost.
