Hemis to Darcha trek in India

Hemis is a village that lies in the Leh district of the Ladakh region. It is located at a distance of 40km to the southeast direction in Kharu Tehsil of Leh town. It is well known for Hemis Monastery. That is Estabilished in 1672AD by King Sengge Namgyal.

Similarly, Darcha (Dartse) is a village that lies on the Bhaga River in Lahaul Region. This village is the permanent settlement in the Northernmost area of Himachal Pradesh next to the Manali-Leh highway.

Hemis to Darcha is not much frequented but a wonderful trekking route. During this trek, you can sight altogether different landscapes lying in a prohibited area.
