Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), situated at an altitude of approximately 4,130m in central Nepal, is one of the country’s most iconic trekking destinations. Nestled within the Annapurna Conservation Area, the base camp lies at the heart of the Annapurna massif and is surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091 m), Machapuchare (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South.

The ABC trek is renowned for its diverse landscapes, transitioning from subtropical forests and terraced farmland to alpine meadows and glacial basins. Along the route, visitors experience rich Gurung and Magar cultural heritage, traditional villages, and warm hospitality in well-established teahouse accommodations.

Day to day Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you can rest from your journey or explore the surrounding area at your leisure. In the evening, you will be hosted at a traditional welcome dinner at a local restaurant. During dinner, a brief orientation about the trek will be provided.

Day 2:

Full-day sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley

After breakfast, we start our sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, includes Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. This cultural introduction offers insight into Nepal’s rich history, religion, and architecture.

Day 3:

Flight to Pokhara, drive to Nayapul, and trek to Ulleri

After an early morning breakfast, we will head to the Tribhuvan International Airport’s domestic terminal. We will take a 25-minute first flight to Pokhara. On arrival in Pokhara, we will drive to our trekking starting point, Nayapul. It is a one-and-a-half-hour scenic drive through picturesque countryside, hills, and rivers. From here, we will begin our trek. We will start by trekking the hilly ridges of Lumle/Kande.

After about 20 minutes, we will reach Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. Beyond a pasture of pony caravans, the trail reaches Sudame, where we have Lunch. After lunch, we begin our steady climb up the side of the valley before reaching Hile (1495m.) near Thikhedhunga. The trail leads steeply up to Ulleri (2073 meters), a large, beautiful Magar village, through the stone slabs. Generally, today’s trek offers you a memorable experience of trekking in Nepal.

Day 4:

Trek to Ghorepani

The next day, after having morning breakfast, we start our second day trek to Ghorepani. The Ghorepani Trail is one of the popular destinations of the Annapurna region, situated at an altitude of 2860 meters. Our trek gently ascends up to Banthanti (2250 meters) through Oak and rhododendron forests. We then continue trek towards Ghorepani through Nangeythanti (2460 meters), after lunch, we will walk for about an hour to Ghorepani, a lively village located on a ridge. Upon arrival, enjoy views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South.

Day 5:

Trek to Tadapani via Poon Hill

Early in the morning, hike up to Poon Hill (3,210m) for a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The golden light over Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri is a highlight of the trek. After descending back to Ghorepani for breakfast, continue trekking eastward. The trail descends through dense forests and then climbs gradually to Tadapani (2630m). This area is quieter and surrounded by forest, offering a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 6:

Trek to Chhomrong

On this day, after breakfast, we will begin by gradually descending through the rhododendron forest. We will cross several suspension bridges along the way to reach Chuile. From Chuile, the trail slowly begins to ascend toward Ghurjung Village, passing through an oak forest, terraced fields, and several small Gurung villages.
From Ghurjung, it is relatively easy to ascend uphill to Chhomrong. We will briefly walk along an exposed ridge that overlooks Mount Machhapuchhre. After a steep descent to the Kimrong River, we will finally reach Chhomrong Village. From here, we can enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and other peaks. We will rest here for the day.

Day 7:

Trek to Dovan

Descend a long stone staircase to cross the Chhomrong Khola, then begin a steady ascent toward Sinuwa. The trail enters the Annapurna Sanctuary, passing through dense bamboo and forested areas. After lunch at Bamboo or Himalaya, continue our camp to Dovan, a small settlement surrounded by forest and steep valley walls. The air becomes cooler and the landscape more alpine as you gain altitude.

Trek to Deurali

The day starts with a gentle, gradual ascent following the trail above the river through a thick bamboo, oak, and rhododendron forest up the side of the canyon. Pass by the Himalaya Hotel. We cross two streams over small bridges. The trail passes through
solitary places. The wilderness of Mother Nature gives peace to our minds. There is also the possibility of seeing a variety of species of wildlife, such as wild pigs, deer, snow leopard, etc. Climb again to the Hinko Cave, an overhanging rock. Climbing further, arrive at Deurali.

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

A short but unforgettable trek takes you deeper into the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trail is relatively gentle and surrounded by snow-capped giants. Upon reaching Annapurna Base Camp, you are encircled by a 360-degree amphitheater of peaks including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchre. Spend time exploring the area, enjoying the dramatic scenery, and taking photographs. Overnight at ABC.

Trek to Bamboo

Wake early to witness sunrise over Annapurna I, one of the most memorable moments of the trek. After breakfast, begin descending along the same route. The trail retraces your steps through MBC, Deurali, and Himalaya. The descent is long but scenic, passing back into forested terrain. Reach Bamboo by late afternoon and rest overnight.

Day 11:

Trek to Jhinu Danda

Continue descending through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Sinuwa and Chhomrong. From Chhomrong, descend toward Jhinu Danda, a village famous for its natural hot springs. After checking into your lodge, take a short walk down to the riverside hot springs to relax your muscles after days of trekking. Overnight at Jhinu Danda.

Day 12:

Trek and drive to Pokhara via Birethanti

From Jhinu Danda, we trek and drive to Pokhara.

Day 13:

Drive back to Kathmandu

We will wake up early and have breakfast, enjoying the surrounding mountain vistas. Then, we will head back to Kathmandu. We will drive on the Prithvi Highway, which passes through scenic landscapes and charming countryside. It also follows the Marshyangdi River and then the Trishuli River.

Departure 

According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward destination.
