This mountain is known by the name Ramdung Peak. It lies in the upper Rolwaling region. Moreover, that can be found to the south of Na valley. It is one of a group of peaks that surround the Yalung La. This is a pass that enables travelers coming from the south to reach the upper Rolwaling region via the Khare Khola. Ramdung peak locates in the center of the group. You can find actual Yalung La in the middle of this cluster of mountains.
In the year 1952, Bill Murray was leading the group which was the first to successfully climb to the peak of the mountain. These individuals were part of a larger expedition. In addition, the summit of Ramdung is a popular destination. It has numerous climbing and hiking groups which make their way on their own on a regular basis. The standard route, which does not present an excessively difficult navigational challenge, circumnavigates the glaciers situated on the north-eastern aspect of the mountain.
