Would the Annapurna Sanctuary indeed be as beautiful as they say?
On a sunny December morning, my (customized) trek started towards ABC.
Many stone steps, wonderful sunrises and sunsets, snow, ice, nice people, tasty dal bhat, and being surrounded by these snow-covered high peaks when you walk up to ABC. It is indeed as beautiful as they say.
Thanks to the Himalayan leaders, my guide, and porter for making this possible.

For my 72nd birthday, I visited Kathmandu to celebrate the special day. I’d always had a dream of doing a trek to Everest Base Camp. I spoke to some friends I had met previously on my last visit to Kathmandu they recommended Himalayan Leaders. I met Jagat who talked me through what the trek entailed he talked in great detail and recommend a 13 day. He told me my guide would be Dorjee Sherpa a very experienced guide.

I met Dorjee who explained the route we would trek and I booked with no hesitation. It was the most memorable experience of my life absolutely fabulous. Dorjee treated me like family a truly wonderful man he pointed out all the views I had always dreamed of seeing. If you are thinking of doing the Everest base camp trek look no further than Himalayan Leaders they are the best. I highly recommend and thank them from the bottom of my heart for fulfilling my lifelong dream. I send Jagat Dahal and Dorjee my best wishes thank you so much.

Jagat is the best person to organize any trip. Without him, I could never be had seen all the things I did or gone to all the places to.
My trip started at Kathmandu and had the car to Sundarijal then we trekked to Chisapani stayed for 1 night then trek to Nagarkot then Dhulikhel for 1 night then trek to Namobuddha left there after 1 night on to Balthali. Then on to Painauti. After this back to Kathmandu. Just an amazing trip. I recommend this to anyone that wants to see places in Nepal.

In March 2018 my girlfriend and I did a trek in the Everest region to EBC and Kala Pattar. We were accompanied by super guide Toran whom I knew from my previous “Tumlingtar to Renyo La” trek in 2015. It keeps amazing me how Jagat, Toran, the porter go through great lengths to make the trek as pleasant as possible and how adequately they react when unforeseen events occur. Hence ‘Himalayan Leaders’ is a travel agency to be recommended! Namaste, Didier.

Annapurna Circuit + Tilicho Lake

We got in touch with Jagat and his company “Himalayan Leaders” from Germany. The organization went perfectly and without any problem. Once we arrived in Nepal, everything was already organized, starting from the airport pick up to the already acquired permissions for the ACA.

We had then one day in Kathmandu before we got picked up at our Hotel and started the journey to the Annapurna Conservation Area. All the time we were accompanied by a guide. In the first lodge, we met our guide Hem Loppa who was going to lead us through the area for next couple of weeks. He is the best guide we could have asked for and I can only recommend him heavily for every trekker/trekking group that like to have a friendly and competent guide who has a great personality!

The trekking tour was awesome and without any incidents. Hem told us everything about the culture and the surrounding mountains and peaks. After 17 days we were transferred back to Pokhara from Nayapul.

In Pokhara, the “Himalayan Leaders” even helped us to rent Mountainbikes to do a short 1-day-circuit around Phewa Lake.

Transfer back to Kathmandu the next day went also well.

All in all, I can only recommend this great organization to every adventure loving person. The planning is just perfect and you won’t have any problems during the trip. The guides only now the best lodges and will take care of you in any way. If you are planning to go to Nepal choose the “Himalayan Leaders” and have the trip of your life!

I travelled solo to Nepal and decided to do the Everest Base Camp circuit as an individual trekker. I sought help from Himalayan Leaders who assisted in charting out a plan and budget for the trek. I’d highly recommended this company for not just a successful trekking experience but also a memorable one. Their approach is well organized and they also make sure to add a touch of home, which makes you feel comfortable even as an individual trekker.

The foundation also runs a community hospital at Maina Pokhari, which offers some wonderful volunteering opportunities. A must visit in Nepal, especially if you’re a traveller looking to go beyond the commercial tourism space in the country! 🙂

I arrived in Kathmandu alone knowing little .. they helped with taxi, hotels and even buying clothes for the trekking (was not prepared yet for cold) .. the trekking in Annapurna was amazing thanks to Hem Loppa who was a guide and a friend during my stay in Nepal! More than the trekking I got the opportunity to real experience Nepal thanks to them and Hem. I Recommend to anyone going to Nepal who is looking for an unforgettable trip!

Going to Tibet with Himalayan Leaders was awesome. We had a great trip with a small group of just four via the Tibetian high plateau to Lhasa on the Friendship Highway. We enjoyed having a well informed guide with us who knew nearly every single of the thousands of buddhas existing. We stopped at a flour mill to learn about the production of Tsampa, enjoyed living close to the people and had awesome views on the way including a lot of cultural highlights. 1000 kilometer driving through an awesome country – and not boring at all! Thanks for that experience!

Testimonial

I did a trek (3 days) around Pokhara with Hem Loppa, my guide. I found them while going around Kathmandu, with little knowledge of the place. A guided tour seemed the best/easiest option to get to know Nepal. Hem was a great guide, adjusting to my pace, arranging additional food and willing to go around to shop for tourist items. The trek itself was beautiful, a variety of valleys and lookout-points. Definitely recommendable, yet it was one that required a being in good physical condition.

We have had the pleasure of trekking in the Annapurna region two times with Himalayan Leaders. Both times it was very well organized and a pleasure for us all. Guiding both when trekking on the mountain and also in Pokhara and Kathmandu area was done by knowledgeable and very nice people from Himalayan Leaders. It was just to show up at the airport, and we were taken very well care of all the way until departure some ten days later. At the first visit, we were also amazed that by arriving in Kathmandu airport in the evening, without any equipment for trekking in the mountains except shoes, at noon the next day we were on the plane to Pokhara with our guide and all required gear purchased/rented after breakfast with assistance from the guides.
We give our very best recommendations! Unforgettable memories for all of us and we will come back one day.

We trekked Annapurna circuit as a group of friends in 2014 and Himalayan Leaders provided us with excellent service. We were highly satisfied and now we plan to have another trip with them in Upper Mustang. We are really looking forward to having another wonderful adventure!

I had a wonderful time with Himalayan Leaders in Mustang in Nepal! I was a solo-traveler, but nevertheless, the trip was not expensive and very well organized. They took very good care of me. Mustang is an incredibly beautiful region, people are so friendly. Thank you very much, Himalayan leaders!

Wonderful guides, excellent service throughout the three weeks we spent in Nepal. All complex expectations of our varied group (including 13 teenagers from 5 different countries) were met. Jagat, Prakash, and Toran took care of us 24/7 even in the difficult period right after the earthquake. We’ve been working with them in various areas of Nepal with volunteering, trekking or tourist activities for over 3 years and they’ve never disappointed us. They are highly flexible and will always help you to customize your visit to make it perfect for your personal needs, whether that is for groups, families or individual backpackers or volunteers. I look forward to going trekking with them again in Spring 2016!

Big thanks to Himalayan leaders team.. From beginning to end of my time in Nepal they were all so helpful and gave me the best welcomings and care. I had no time to plan anything before reaching Nepal and they did it for me considering the best of my wishes. All the team is very professional and they know what they are doing. I will definitely come back to Nepal and hike again with Himalayan Leaders.

It was my first time in Nepal and I really enjoyed it! I have seen a lot of beautiful places, met many friendly people and loved the beliefs and culture of this country. I’d love to come back to do some more trekkings around Annapurna or Mustang area and I’d definitely travel again with Himalayan leaders, perfect organization, so I recommend it to everyone who wants to discover the beauty of Nepal!

Himalayan Leaders helped us organize our tours around Kathmandu. Just very nice and knowledgeable. Introductions to a good hotel were made just as English speaking drivers.

We had a fantastic trekking experience with Himalayan Leaders in the EBC region for 23 days. They are very flexible and can customize to suit your wishes and requirements. Jagat personally welcomed us and is around the office most of the time and willing to help with whatever you need.

The trekking was very well organized and professionally managed by Dorjee our sherpa with help from Dawa our porter. They did everything possible to make our trek as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

With Himalayan Leaders you can go by yourself or as a couple instead of joining a group, this is much better as you can go at your own speed and adapt the program when needed for example when you don’t feel well. For this reason, its good to have some additional days so that you can make changes and still reach your goal. We met people that were not feeling well and had to go down with the chopper as the group had to move on, where a rest day or a small change in the program may have worked as well.

Himalayan Leaders also took the extra effort to help get one of our luggage pieces that arrived a day late.

Highly recommended.

When I, Valhoy arrived in Kathmandu to meet a friend for 10 days in Nepal with nothing planned during the monsoon season I was a bit apprehensive that I had just wasted my long-coveted vacation days; without the help of Jagat, it may have been true. After winding through Thamel streets my friend had a ‘feeling’ that we should go into Himalayan Leaders from a sign on the street. I am not as spiritually inclined as she, but in retrospect, I believe it was one of those ‘things happen for a reason’ moments.

We met Jagat and sat down for some chai tea while we spoke in generalizations about what sort of a trip we wanted to have. Jagat had planned out an itinerary in 20 minutes that fit all of our requests. And was tailored to what was best during the monsoons, which is further proof of his endless knowledge of the area.

The last test was to see if he could get us to Bhutan for a few days. Not only was Jagat able to arrange a private guide and driver, but was able to do it for hundreds of USD cheaper than any of the other places we had stopped in for a quote. We’d made our decision.

The review could stop here but unfortunately, I lost all of the paperwork we were given while on a bus to Pokhara with no wifi. As soon as we got to the hotel, late, and messaged for help, Jagat responded with all of our missing information and a few pleasantries about our trip so far.

Again, when in Sarenkot and getting ready to paraglide we were met with the confusion that was immediately dispelled by Jagat who called the company and straightened everything out (there was no problem in the first place).

If you book with Himalayan Leaders you are forgoing regret. Thank you, Jagat.

We were for 17 days in Nepal and we spend those time very well. Starting from sightseeing for Kathmandu valley to the higher places around Kathmandu to the Jungle in Chitwan right to the border of India to the cozy Nagarkot where sometimes when it gets dark it seems like clouds come into the mountains.
One of the finest experience where also a mix of cultures a and religion. The world has to see to Nepal how to live together like that. And yeah we saw them all: Hindouistic, Buddhistic, Muslim and even Christians in a little house bar with the bed behind. We saw it cause there were pictures of Jezes everywhere.
The biggest moment was to be in Namobudda> We slept in a Buddhistic monastery where we did also 3 prayings and eat zenith the monks.
All this wasn’t possible if there was not the great organization of the whole Himalayan Leaders team> The service was Perfecto and special thank to our Guide Padam with the interesting history and religion lessons on our journey around Nepal. Also, thanks to Vinod for his save rinding and everytime a helpful hand for the luggage.
Thanks and see you next time Himalayan Leaders!!!!!

Before we went to Nepal we were quite unsure about the conditions in Nepal after the earthquake. Himalayan Laeders informed us about the situation. We were happy it was possible to do the Manaslu circuit. On the circuit there has been landslides, but new paths are already made. We were taken good care of by our guide Bhagwan on the path and in the lodges. The Manaslu circuit was quiet and untouched. Annapurna circuit was more luxurious and offered also beautiful mountain views. Despite the fuel shortage transport was still alright. We certainly recommend Himalayan Leaders to all our friends!

It was nice to arrive on time. We were happily surprised to have this welcome dinner. During city sightseeing, the guide is very good with a fine explanation. During trekking, we have very good service. The trial is very nice with the fantastic view and the guide and porter are very flexible and friendly. It was very nice to see another part of nature in Nepal with a very nice hotel and very heartily welcomed nice people.

We would definitely recommend and when we come back we will book again with Himalayan leaders and if possible with same trekking guide. We had a very good first impression of Nepal and we will definitely come back.
