The day 1 begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. Our representative will warmly receive you and assist you to your hotel. After some refreshments, we will discuss briefly the last-minute specifics for the Pikey Peak trek at our office. You can explore the Thamel area in the evening.
On day 2, we will go sightseeing around Kathmandu. We will introduce you to some of the popular attractions including UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, and Bouddhanath.
For day 3, we will drive to Shivalaya after breakfast. It takes around 8 to 9 hours to reach Shivalaya. En route, you will get the chance to witness the beauty of Nepal’s rural side. You will come across greeneries, rivers, charming villages, and terraced farms. Similarly, you can also get a glimpse of snow-capped mountains. After a 200 km (124 miles) drive, we will reach Shivalaya at an altitude of 1,790 meters (5,873 feet).
On day 4 we will begin our trek to Bhandar. Situated at an altitude of 2,190 meters (7,185 feet), it will take a 7 to 8-hour trek to reach Bhandar. As we leave Shivalaya, we will slowly start to climb uphill through scattered villages towards Deurali. Then, we will have to trek downhill and reach Bhandar. The trek distance is 18 km (11.2 miles). The beautiful Sherpa village is surrounded by Buddhist Stupas and a small monastery.
Our day 5’s destination is Chaula Kharka. We will pick up our trek from Bhandar and follow Likhu Khola. After we cross the Khola, our trail will start to ascend. We will climb up to Chaula Kharka while walking through the forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. It’s a short hike of around 4 hours and 8.5 km (5.3 miles) trek distance.
We will begin our day 6 trek by walking through the dense forest of rhododendrons. The destination for the day is Pikey Peak Base Camp which lies at an elevation of 3,640 meters (11,943 feet). We will pass by small Buddhist stupas and monasteries along the way. It takes 7 to 8 hours to reach the Pikey Peak Base Camp. Once we reach the base camp, we will explore around a small chees farm that produces yak cheese.
Our day 7 will begin early. Today we will be hiking to the Pikey Peak. It lies at an elevation of 4,067 meters (13,372 feet). From the base camp, it is at a distance of 7 km (4.3 miles). Likewise, it takes around 5 hours to walk. While on the trail, you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise over the stunning Himalayan mountain range. Likewise, on the top, you can enjoy the panoramic mountain view. Get an up-close look at Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks. Then, we will head back to the base camp.
For day 8, we will head to Lamjura la in the north direction. We will walk through Jasmane Bhanjang and pass by a small hot spring along the way. There are very few villages on the trail except for some tea houses. After trekking a 9.9 km (6.15 miles) distance for around 7 hours, we will reach Lamjura la. It is situated at an altitude of 3,530 meters (11,581 feet). We will stay here overnight.
On day 9, we will walk past local villages and luscious fields towards Junbesi. Similarly, we will pass by small monasteries along the way. You can also witness the majestic Himalayan range. We will trek for 5 to 6 hours. The picturesque village of Junbesi is situated at an altitude of 2,700 meters (8,858 feet).
For day 10, we will explore the surrounding areas of Junbesi. We will visit monasteries and hike up to Thuptenchholing Gompa. Thuptenchholing Gompa is located at a higher elevation in the region. Thus, it provides a panoramic view of the surroundings. Additionally, Thuptenchholing Gompa has cultural significance for the locals.
On day 11, we will trek through the scenic trail and head towards Phaplu village. Located at 2,469 meters (8,100 feet), Phaplu is known for its scenic beauty and Himalayas view.
On day 12, we will take a flight back to Kathmandu. The flight takes around 35 minutes.
For day 13, we will go sightseeing around Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square. These historic cities provide unique insight into Nepal’s culture, customs, and arts of wood and pottery.
Day 14 is the day for your departure. We will assist in transferring you to the international airport.
